Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I have to send pictures in black and white?
A. No, I can convert all the pictures sent to black and white or sepia. Just send your original color pictures.
Q. What form of payment do you accept?
A. I will send you a PayPal invoice by email. PayPal is a very secure site that takes all major credit cards. I can also give you my address if you would rather mail a check or money order.
Q. How does this process work?
Once you have chosen the type of card you want and the style number, email your choice and information needed to customize your card. Then attach your pictures to that email message.
Q. How should I send the pictures?
A. I prefer to have them emailed as .jpeg or .bmp type files in their ORIGINAL state (meaning please don’t crop or edit yourself) Please do not shrink them down to make them more email friendly. You may have to send one picture at a time depending on what your email allows. If you send pictures and do not hear back from me for a few days, most likely something went wrong and I did not receive them. I always email back that day or the next day when I receive your photos so you know they went through successfully.
Q. Can I send them through Ofoto, Yahoo photo albums, MSN photo album, etc. (online photo sharing)?
A. I prefer to have them sent as attachments (please refer to the next question on how to do that) Ofoto and similar programs shrink your pictures and the quality is not as good when they are sent through these servers. The exception is KODAK picture sharing, which is OK to use to send pictures because they do not compromise the quality.
Q. How do I email my pictures?
A. Open a new message in your email to me:
carter.taryn@gmail.com and there should be an “attachment” or paperclip icon button; click on that and a browser will open to look for files on your computer. Find your first picture to send and click OK. Your file should be attached to the email.
Q. What resolution should my photos be?
A. All photos should be at least 1800x1200 pixels and all scanned photos should be a minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch) or preferably 600 dpi.
Q. What type of paper are the cards printed on?
A. They are professionally printed on Kodak Royal Digital paper with either a matte or glossy finish.
Q. Can I change the colors on the announcement?
A. Yes. The announcements are usually designed to compliment the colors in your photos, but they can be changed to specific colors (school colors, boy/girl)
Q. Do envelopes come with my order?
A. Yes, white envelopes are included. I am not able to print return addresses on the envelopes, or send them out early.
Q. Can I get less than 40 cards?
A. Yes, you can get less than 40 cards but they are $1.25 each versus $1.00 at this time.
Q. Do the announcements require additional postage?
A. No, all of the announcements require the standard .39 cents postage.
Q. Can you do a new design for me that I don’t see on your site?
A. Yes, if you have an idea or sample, I would love to hear it and help you create it at no extra cost. My website is just a sampling of work that I have done.
Q. Do you have other fonts or can I use a different font than what is shown in your sample?
A. Yes, I have many different fonts to choose from. Please email me if there is a particular one you were looking for or for a style you have in mind (script, handwriting, kiddish, etc.) and I can send you more options.
Q. Can I write anything on the back of the card?
A. It is the same surface as the back of a typical photograph. I recommend using a printed label for text on the back (directions, or other important information that is too busy for the front). But if there is a lot more text that you would like on your card, please let me know and I can fit most on the card itself by omitting a picture, making type smaller or making the pictures smaller, etc.
Q. How long will it take to get my order?
A. It takes me approximately 2 days to turn around a sample to you once the pictures were sent. I email you after I receive the pictures to let you know when to expect a sample for sure. Then, once it is approved, it is 2-3 days to be printed then they are mailed priority after that. Most people receive their cards in a week or less from when they submitted the photos. Please allow about 7-10 days for delivery during the holiday season.
Q. I am local in the Duluth area; can I pick up the cards?
A. Yes, I live in Proctor, Minn.
Q. I have a question that is not listed on this page.

carter.taryn@gmail.com and I will answer it for you!
